Let’s talk about books! Not the kind of book you might be thinking of. No romance novels here!! I am talking about a hardback, eye-catching, want to pick up and take a peek inside type of book. A Coffee table book! Coffee table books are not just for coffee tables…they can be used anywhere! A book can be the base for a decorative bowl in an entryway credenza, on a nightstand, adding layers or stacked on a bookcase.
A simple accessory such as a coffee table book can make a statement all on its own. But how does one pick the perfect book for an accessory? I like to keep it to three key points: size, color, and topic. The size is what is going to give the space depth and a base from which to build. The color is what I like to use if the book sleeve is not being used. As far as the topic, pick it for interest, such as a favorite place or area that is of interest to you.
