Exuma was one of the best family trips we took! There are definitely items I highly recommend not leaving home without. You will need them! Here are my top items I would not leave home without. Also, bring cash. The exchange rate is dollar for dollar. The bank fees to take money out at the ATM are extremely high, I have heard. Most all the places take cards a few do not. Monies for tipping as well. Groceries are expensive on the island. We packed our kid’s snacks and we brought wine with us. We used these for packing.
Okay, now for the fun stuff. Bug spray is a must! Yes, bug spray for the “No-see-umms”. They are so tiny and attack with vengeance. They come out at night. Carry your bug spray with you. Water Shoes for the kids! You can cut your toes or feet on sharp coral or shells. Speaking from experience! Wear those water shoes. Waterproof speaker for the beach and boat rental. Drink tumblers like a Yeti for the beach and to bring on the boat. Beach towels like the ones below. They are thin and less bulky for the beach bag. Sunglasses for the kids, sun hats, and a lot of sunscreens. We took lotion, spray and face sticks. Waterproof phone case. Yes, your phone will get wet, especially on the boat. Extra battery charger for the phone. You don’t want to run out of juice for those picture-perfect paradise pictures! Below are my favorites.
Packing for Exuma is super easy. Pack light! You will live in bathing suits, coverups, and shorts. The island is super laid back. We actually overpacked! We would do it differently next time, for sure. Here are some of the favorites I took with me.
I hope you enjoy my must-haves and favorites that we took on our Exuma vacation. Not only will we be taking these with us again but for many other vacation destinations to come. Hope this helps with what to pack and take with you on your own adventures. If you have a favorite let us know about it and drop a comment below! XOXO
